U14–15 AFL Athletic Development – 4 Week Beginner Running Program Age Group: Under 14–15 Boys & Girls Level: Beginner (Structured Entry / Transition from U12–13) Frequency: 3 sessions per week (non-consecutive days) Primary Objective: Establish a robust aerobic base and introduce structured AFL-specific running demands in preparation for higher training loads at U14–15 level Designed for: • Athletes new to structured running programs • Athletes progressing from the U12–13 pathway • Athletes preparing for representative or academy environments Coaching Guidelines This age group can tolerate slightly higher volume but still prioritises technique and consistency No session should compromise sprint mechanics or posture Encourage athletes to self-manage pacing early RPE Scale (1–10) 1–2 very easy | 3–4 easy | 5 steady | 6 challenging | 7 hard | 8 very hard | 9–10 maximal
