U12–13 AFL Athletic Development – 4 Week Elite Pathway Running Program Age Group: Under 12–13 Boys Level: Elite Pathway / Academy-Preparation Frequency: 3 sessions per week (non-consecutive days) Primary Objective: Prepare high-performing U12–13 athletes for elite junior pathway demands through advanced aerobic power, repeat high-intensity running, speed exposure, and AFL-specific movement under fatigue Prerequisite: Completion of Intermediate block or demonstrated strong running competency Coaching Guidelines Precision > volume: every rep has intent Athletes must maintain running mechanics under fatigue Emphasise recovery quality (sleep, hydration, light movement) RPE Scale (1–10) 1–2 very easy | 3–4 easy | 5 steady | 6 challenging | 7 hard | 8 very hard | 9–10 maximal
