U12–13 AFL Athletic Development – 4 Week Intermediate Running Program Age Group: Under 12–13 Boys Level: Intermediate (post-foundation) Frequency: 3 sessions per week (non-consecutive days) Primary Objective: Progress AFL-specific running capacity with greater aerobic strength, tempo control, repeat-effort ability, acceleration, max velocity exposure, and sharper change of direction Prerequisite: Completion of Beginner/Foundation block or equivalent running base Coaching Guidelines Quality movement before speed Players should finish sessions feeling challenged, not exhausted Reinforce AFL movement patterns: curved running, deceleration, re-acceleration RPE Scale (1–10) 1–2 very easy | 3–4 easy | 5 steady | 6 challenging | 7 hard | 8 very hard | 9–10 max
